A beautiful hill terrace resides in Ukhrul District. Most hill people uses the hill terrace to grow paddy plants. We all know that rice is a staple food for Manipur people. The area of Paddy field is decreasing gradually. This is not a good sign for all of us. There are so many reasons for decreasing it. Most of the people use paddy field for building their houses in the paddy field instead growing the paddy plants. Some people uses paddy field for pig farming, fish farming and brick field. The area of paddy field is large in plain area of Manipur. The area of planting paddy plants for hill people is small. It is high time to safe our paddy field. There is no other rice more palatable than the rice of Manipur in the world. Let's save our paddy field to grow more paddy plants. Human beings cannot live without plants.
